Q. I am a 28-year-old woman getting married in two months time. I am extremely curious to know if there will be any changes in the body after I get married. I also want to know how many times in a week should I have sex? Also, my periods are clashing with my honeymoon dates, how do I postpone my periods, is there any method? – Mahima Maharjan
To answer your queries:
1. No hormonal or bodily changes occur after marriage. The only change is that your hymen gets torn after the first intercourse. This may cause some bleeding.
2. There are no hard and fast rules about the number of times one should have intercourse in a week. One can have intercourse as many times as their mind and body allows. If someone desires to get pregnant soon then they should have intercourse at least three to four times a week. However, it is always a good habit to void urine and clean your perineal parts (not vagina) with plain water and dry the parts after intercourse.
3. To postpone your period you should start taking progesterone tablet one week prior to the date you think you will get your period and continue taking it until you desire to postpone it. But this can make your period irregular for some time. It is always recommended that one consults with a gynaecologist before taking any prescription.
