ASMAN Tree Plantation programme

Chris Maser once said: “What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and to one another.” In today’s fast paced and hi-tech world it is important to create awareness about planet preservation and eco system amongst the future generation. Hence, on June 30, ASMAN (Association of St. Mary’s Alumnae Nepal) took the initiative to organise a tree plantation programme with the students and teachers of Mary Ward School, Lubhu. Bishwa Raj Shrestha, local ward member and   Hira Paudal, Local Forest user Committe MR were in charge of the programme. The Executive members included Tsering Dolkar Lama, Ranu Shah,  Binu Shrestha,  Jyoti Shah, Kanchan Shrestha and Susan Shakya.

There were a total of 120 participants in the event which included 80 students from grade six, seven and eight. The Executive Committee members of ASMAN along with the students and teachers planted 500 saplings.
