Celebrating 25 years of Nepathya

Nepathya, a boy band from the early 90’s turned 25 on April 1. The band has decided to celebrate its silver jubilee year with various activities. Formed in 1990 by Deepak Rana (now a chopper pilot), Bhim Poon (now settled in Hong Kong) and Amrit Gurung, Nepathya is one of the most popular Nepalese bands. They are from Pokhara, released their first album in 1991, and became popular with the folk and rock elements in their songs.

Nepathya’s front man, Amrit Gurung is a Gandhian and promotes peace and harmony in his songs. He is a travel enthusiast and a professional photographer as well. In its 25 years, Nepathya has been a source of inspiration for other bands and fans. They have toured various countries giving live performances to packed audiences. Started by three members, 20 musicians have contributed to its journey thus far. A biography will be released in the coming year written by Amrit Gurung.
