Deepikshya Bhatta has always been passionate and deeply curious about clothes. She completed a diploma in design from IEC to help sharpen her knowledge of fashion design. She specialises in traditional ethnic wear besides doing custom orders based on client preferences. She works as a designer with Red Velvet and is the owner of Saivee, The Fashion Apparel.
What is fashion to you?
For me, fashion is what reflects your personality and who you are. With the right outlook, it is important to look confident and comfortable rather than just pretty and glamorous.
What does Saivee, The Fashion Apparel offer fashion lovers?
We offer a variety of ethnic and traditional wears specializing in hand embroidery. I like to keep it simple yet elegant and at affordable prices.
Your fashion inspiration/icon
My inspiration for design can come from anywhere. I look up to Elie Saab, Prabal Gurung, Sonam Kapoor, Sabyasachi.
What is your favorite trend this year?
Indo-western outfits. They are trendy, classy and easy to wear.
What would you like to see disappear?
Describe your ‘I made it moment’
Yet to come, but every time when I look at a happy client, it feels like ‘Yeah, I made it!’
3 must-haves in a woman’s wardrobe
A denim jacket which I never tire of, a black clutch and white sneakers.
Do you believe in age-appropriate dressing?
No matter the age, every woman should be able to wear what she wants but match clothes to your body type.
How important is accessorizing your outfit?
The accessory is important. It can make a simple look go ‘wow’.
How much importance do you give to comfort while designing?
I choose fabrics and design keeping comfort and elegance in mind.
Can style be acquired?
Yes, it can be acquired. You have to own it often sidelining the thoughts of people around you. Style comes from within so you must feel confident and beautiful in what you wear.

Pink, mint, yellow, orange and purple.
What does being a woman mean to you?
A woman is a power packed performer whether as a working woman or a housewife. The word ‘woman’ comes with tons of responsibilities and challenges. Women are much stronger than they believe, they just need to discover it.
