Nepal had crossed long political hurdles and become a democratic republic nation and we are still discussing unequal job wages just because of the patriarchal society we live in. This lack of uniformity in pay based on gender even exists in developed nations but it doesn’t mean Nepal should stay the course. There is rising gap between male and female in our country due to the myth that men perform difficult tasks better. Men have long had the opportunity of education, employment, travelling and freedom. But women are not far behind. The problem of unequal pay for the same work raises a serious question on our society. Political parties in power are also not addressing this agenda. Laws must be executed to ensure equal work opportunities and pay to both genders.
