Sanu Gurung has been a part of Nepal’s makeup industry since five years. She was always artsy and creative right since childhood. Soon she developed a keen interest in makeup and specialises in wedding and special occasion makeup.
What made you want to become a makeup artist?
I found this profession most suitable as it allows creativity and complements my inborn knack for fashion and glamour. I love to play with colours. Moreover this is my childhood dream which I am now living.
What do you love about what you do?
Most makeup artists are trying to do something different hence often compromising on the simplicity of the face or body. The fashion industry evolves on a daily basis and expertise has to be upgraded accordingly. I love my work and the creative expression it allows me.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. I know this to be true because it has worked for me. Michelle Phan, the international makeup artist, inspires me always.
Product or brand favourite
I got a few of them actually: NARS, Huda Beauty, Sephora Pro, Muphy
