Screening of a Movie, Toilet – Ek Prem Katha by Zonta Club

Zonta Club of Kathmandu organised the screening of Bollywood movie, Toilet-Ek Prem Katha on 11 August at Kumari QFX. Toilets play a crucial role in creating a strong economy, improving health and protecting people’s safety and dignity, particularly women and girl.

With the help of Sulabh, Zonta has already constructed two toilets at Goldhunga and Pashupati premises. Zonta Club is proud to relay the information that Nepal is the first country in South Asia to collaborate with Sulabh for the transfer of cost effective sanitation technology. Zonta has also built 10 toilets in Sindhupalchowk, an area most affected by the devastating earthquake whilst keeping in mind the dropout rate of the girl child in schools where there were no toilets. Two toilets have also been constructed in Pyutar in Lalitpur district which was also affected by the earthquake. Zonta has collaborated with Nepal Youth Foundation for this project. Zonta’s objective in screening this movie was to raise awareness and advocate for an issue closely related to women and girl safety and well being. The funds raised will be targeted towards the Club’s various women empowerment projects.
