The best thing about being a mother…
Motherhood for me is walking around with all your nerve endings raw and exposed. Nothing else can give as much joy or break a heart as motherhood does. It’s the best gift God has given to women. I couldn’t imagine going through life without feeling this spectrum of emotions. The best thing about being a mum is to know the joy even when you are experiencing the hardest trials of life.
I love being a mum because of the hugs, the giggles, and the grins. When my kid is happy, so am I. He amazes me every day with his new words and discoveries. He has taught me to be more patient, more loving and much more appreciative of every moment we have together as a family.
Does motherhood change your life perspective…
Before being a mum, I was a daughter and then a wife. It was completely different than being a mother. You have to take care of your child. You see the world in a different way. It’s much scarier and more dangerous now, yet at the same time you get to see things through the eyes of an innocent child, with wonder and amazement. Everything becomes about the family. My life is no longer just about me; there are people counting on me.
How do you maintain balance between being a parent and your career?
I believe time management is the key to balance in life. I am wife to a photographer and mother to a mischievous son. I am also a perfectionist. Although it is not possible to score 10/10 as a working woman, it is definitely about doing justice to every role with sheer conviction and a sense of enjoyment.
Challenges of working mother…
• Deciding if and when to have children
• Dedicating sufficient time to childcare
• Finding and affording childcare facilities
• Balancing work and breastfeeding
• Dedicating sufficient time to work to enable career advancement and satisfaction
• I really miss my baby’s precious growing moments which I couldn’t be a close part of.
What makes you a wow mom…
I am the most lucky woman in the world. I have such a wonderful and loving family, a very loving and caring husband and a child to brighten my life. I just love being me!
