That’s a cut !
Saniya Shadadpuri is a well-known hairstylist, a favourite of many Bollywood stars including Bipasha Basu. She has worked for big films such as Rustom. During her recent visit to Nepal she shared a few hairstyling tips and tricks with WOW readers:
What projects are you working on?
Currently, I am busy with weddings and events of Bollywood celebrities like Bipasha Basu, Tapsee Pannu, Isha Gupta and Mira Kapoor. I am also trying to get involved in bigger budget movies.
Which hair/beauty products and tools are always in YOUR kit?
I always have a good lipstick, sunscreen, Livon hair serum and a backcomb brush
One hair trend that never goes out of fashion…
What is the trendiest hairstyle of 2018?
It would be a nice slick high pony. It highlights your jawline and contours your face shape. It’s best if you leave two or three loose strands in the front.
What is your number one hair care tip?
Always use Livon serum or a head protector before straightening or drying; this will protect your hair from heat damage.
What’s the easiest way for WOW readers to take their ‘at-work hair’ to a glamorous party look?
If you are wearing a ponytail or a bun, just loosen your tresses, flip it down and run your fingers through. Put it up again. This will add a little volume.
What style do you recommend for a round/square/oval face?
If you face is very broad and very plump don’t go for a shorter layer right in front of your face. Try to keep it softer around your face. The layer of your hair should start below the chin. For a person with a nice jawline, I would suggest opting for a nice shorter layer with a lob haircut. Keep it short around your collarbone.
One thing women do wrong with their hair
There is more than just one thing. Firstly a lot of women tend to think that long hair always looks nice, but it not true. If you just grow your hair and don’t add some element to it like a different haircut or colour, you will start looking dull. Also, one should not wait for nine months to get a haircut. Cutting half an inch every three months will prevent split ends and hair fall. Furthermore, most people are afraid to colour their hair as they think it will cause damage. This is one of the biggest misconceptions. If you follow the aftercare routine properly by applying serum and conditioner, there will be no issues at all.
What’s the best thing to do when having a bad hair day?
Just dampen your hair a little and dry it, this will add volume. Then apply a small amount of dry shampoo and Livon serum, and you are all set for the day.
