WCN’s 3D Art Program for Environment
On August 7, WCN organised a 3D art competition which depicted the three winning concepts by Mowli Shah of Grade 5 of Ace School; Sony Majhi of Grade 5 of Shristi School and Deepika Singh of Grade 7 of Ace School and Kritika Rayamajhi of Grade 7 of Triyog School. The art installations showcased the state of Kathmandu valley’s environment. The exhibition is a culmination of a two-day long workshop mentored by Priyanaka Rana Landoli, an artist, art practitioner and founder of The Crafty Cat Art Club based in Caterham, East Surrey, UK. “I didn’t want the best artists to come here but the most creative ideas”, she says. The main purpose of this program was to creatively make people take notice of the catastrophic environmental problems we in Kathmandu. The installations will be showcased in the participating schools as a travelling exhibition throughout the year.
