In my opinion I feel the biggest challenge faced by women in the world today is gender inequality, especially in a developing country like ours. It is strange that even today, in the 21st century, women do not have access to basic opportunities and resources that every person, irrespective of gender should have. In extreme cases, she does not even have control over her own life, whether it be inside or outside her home.
Every day we read and listen to the news of violence, crimes and atrocities carried out against women. To ensure the safety of women today, I feel it is pertinent that we are not looked upon as “commodities” and are given a chance to play an equal role in building and strengthening our society.

In a patriarchal society like that of Nepal today, women must start playing a vital role in the decision making process, take the initiative to follow her dreams and aspirations and most importantly, should been given equal opportunity in every field irrespective of gender.

Furthermore, I also feel that action should be taken in raising the status of women through education, awareness and training which should be made available for women and girls of all ages and all walks of life.
